Why did you join Thurlby Tigers FC?
Asked to help out in the academy and before you know it you are booked on an FA course and have a squad to manage and develop!
What positions(s) do you hold within the club?
Coach.
What coaching qualifications do you have?
FA Level 1.
What do you enjoy most/least about the role you play for your club?
Most – Seeing the players develop, not only as footballers but as young people. Watching their confidence grow.
Least – Sorting out kit!
What is your favourite Thurlby Tigers memory?
2 of these…..
Taking the academy to their first matches at the Peterborough embankment tournaments and seeing them put into practice what we’d been coaching them.
Building an individual player’s confidence over multiple seasons to the point they now feel able to play in competitive matches and contribute very well to these matches.

Forest – does that count as a professional team?!
Who have you played football for?
Football for Glinton Cubs and Scouts! Rugby for Deeping!
Which do you prefer, coaching or playing? Why?
Coaching – too old for playing!
What is the biggest game you have ever played in or coached?
Coached – Bourne tournament under 9’s semi-final.
Who is your footballing hero?
Stuart Pearce, Forest and Euro 96.
What three things would you take on a desert island and why?
- Running shoes
- Fully loaded iPod for music
- Bear Grylls – I’d put him to work and put my feet up!
