Why did you join Thurlby Tigers FC?
My son joined the U10’s Black in 2019. As a parent I was looking for a club that was inclusive, could help him develop as a player and learn to play within a team that wasn’t focused solely on winning. When a coaching opportunity came up, I volunteered to help the team and promote the clubs ethos.
How long have you been associated to and volunteering for the club?
Since Jan 2021.
What is your favourite Tigers memory?
The first U10’s Black’s goal of the season against Stamford. After a tricky start to the season against some top teams, it was a small but fantastic reward for the team.
What Professional Team do you Support?
Manchester United.
Who did / do you play football for?
Walton Comprehensive School Team.
Biggest game you’ve ever played in or coached?
As a new coach, ask me again after the first season.
Coaching or Playing? And Why?
Coaching – seeing players develop and enjoying the game from such a young age is very rewarding.
Who is/was your footballing hero?
Ronaldo (the Brazilian one) – my early football memories of him playing for Barcelona and Inter Milan, he was a fantastic striker.
What three things would you take on a desert island and why?
- My family – surely that counts
- Music – Kings of Leon
- BBQ
