U11’s transition from Saturday to Sunday football, and from mini soccer to 9 v 9 football, and with that, a more competitive edge is introduced. Read more about our Thurlby football club for Year 6.

Getting started

U11’s move from the Foundation stage to Youth Development phase of the FA DNA model. The emphasis continues to be on long-term player development, whilst also offering a platform for on field success. Positions are rotated but become less fluid and focused to matching player skillsets along with fair game time.

During Summer months training takes place at Lawrance Park in Thurlby. Winter training takes place at either Stamford, Borderville or Elsea Park, all sessions are time appropriate for the age group. Matches are scheduled for Sunday (10am, 12pm or 2pm) and some of the age groups are currently split into 2 teams, Oranges and Blacks creating a little inner-club rivalry!
