2019-20 Season Review – TTFC U12’s Orange

Ending the 18/19 season strong, we went into this season placed in Division 3 which was a great achievement from all the hard effort put in by the boys…

From XXXX…

We unfortunately lost a few players which left us “tight” and had us thinking it would be a real struggle for the boys but this only made the team stronger with most players then having to play the full 60 minutes week in week out with position changes that they were not used too.

I am extremely proud of each and every member of the team and it’s been a pleasure watching their growth, learning new tactics, digging deep especially through the horrendous weather encountered and knowing that even when they was tired, that they needed to remain strong until the final whistle.

As with all teams, the weather was certainly our enemy this season seeing countless matches postponed – even sometimes once we had travelled to play but being called off after very last minute pitch inspection. Covid-19 then put paid to the end of our Season which was a big shame for the boys to end in this way.

I would like to take this opportunity of thanking Harry McCarthy for being my Assistant Coach as this was sadly his last season with us as he now has his own team to coach with his youngest son which we wish him every success in. I am sure the boys all appreciate everything you have done as do I and the parents.

Another thank you goes out to Paul Smith for stepping in and becoming one of the coaching staff as your knowledge for training, tactics and keeping the boys engaged in training sessions has been fantastic.

Well done to all the parents for ensuring that the boys make training on a weekly basis over in Stamford and travelling to all games each Sunday as without your commitment along with that of the boys, then we obviously wouldn’t have our “football family”.

After months of such uncertainly in the world and the boys having to lead such different lives with no training etc, I cannot wait until we can all meet and start training for our 20/21 season which I hope the boys will come out just as strong.

Our sponsor, as it has been for several years, who provides both training and match day kit is Hireforce Rentals Limited whom we thank for what they contribute.
