Thurlby Tigers awarded FA Charter Standard Development Club status

In May 2019 after 12 months hard work by the club, the Football Association awarded Thurlby Tigers F.C with the FA Charter Standard Development Club award. In doing so the F.A recognised Thurlby Tigers FC as 1 of only 6 clubs throughout Lincolnshire to be awarded the accolade.

What does receiving the award mean as a club;

  • The FA describes an Development standard club as “Clubs who clearly enhancing the quality and scope of their football offering”
  • The accolade has some strict criteria and shows the club to be operating in a professional and structured manor, providing annual accounts.
  • We provide an enhanced coaching pathway with highly qualified coaches across the club who spend time sharing the learning and supporting on-going CPD within the club. All coaches within the club are FA Licensed Coaches Club members.
  • The club has an extremely good disciplinary record
  • The club shows clear direction and has a Development plan in place showing 3 – 5 year plans
  • Welfare and Safeguarding is at the forefront of the clubs thoughts, all sessions & fixtures are conducted with a fully stocked 1st aid kit available

Upon receiving the award the Chairman expressed his thanks to everyone involved in the club past and present from Committee Members to Coaches, players, parents and sponsors.

In addition to the club receiving the FA Charter Standard Development status the club would like to say a big congratulations to our Secretary and Coach Phil Davies on firstly being nominated and being awarded Lincolnshire’s Volunteer of the Year for 2018 by Lincolnshire FA. A huge achievement and one the club is extremely proud of, well done Phil.
