Thank you for sponsoring the team/club. Why did you decide to do so?

I sponsored the U13 Oranges in 2022-23 as a way of putting something back into the club. I have been following the team since my son joined at the age of five, and that team has developed very well with the coaches’ tuition. They are growing young men, and whilst the last kit served them two very good years, the opportunity came along to be a new sponsor for new kit which I was only too happy to support.

What have been, or what do you expect to be, the benefits of sponsorship for your business?

I don’t expect to gain anything from sponsorship, just the exposure of the company name being out there. For lots of people if they see something they will then search on the Internet to find out more. Most of my work comes through recommendation, which is nice, but of course I am keen to hear from anyone with a need. The main thing is all this gets the team a new kit for a new season, with the business logo on the front.

Tell us about your ‘stand out’ Thurlby Tigers moment.

A proud dad moment was my son being made joint captain, and seeing the smile on his face after being selected for that role. The team have done so well, so for me it is difficult to pick one stand out part as they have all tried so hard as a team to get where they are today. However, beating Deeping United 5-4 last season – the season when the team went on to win Division 4 – will definitely stick in my mind for a very long time; that was a game of nerves!
